Exchangeable unit steam trap
A disk type steam trap having a trap unit and a jacket communicating with both an inlet opening of the steam trap and a valve port passage of the trap unit having an intermediate pressure chamber,BALL VALVES a condensate reservoir of a suitable internal volume formed below the intermediate pressure chamber, and one or more bleeder passages communicating the intermediate pressure chamber with a discharge passage. The trap unit comprises a valve seat member,Forged Steel Valves a disk placed on the top of the valve seat member, and a cap forming the intermediate pressure chamber at the back of the disk. The valve seat member has an inner annular seat and an outer annular seat. The valve port passage issues from the inside of the inner annular seat and communicates with the inlet opening of the steam trap through the jacket. An annular groove is formed between the inner and outer annular seats, Safety Valves and the discharge passage issues from the annular groove and communicates with an outlet opening of the steam trap. A steam trap includes a casing having an inlet and an outlet, a cover secured to the casing to enclose a condensate reservoir in the casing and a trap unit having a valve closing and opening by thermal expansion and contraction of a thermoelement such as thermowax in response to temperature in the reservoir and a counter spring whose spring force acts against the thermal expansion of the thermoelement. The disclosed steam trap comprises connection means for connecting the cover and the trap unit only by relative movement therebetween and a support spring arranged between the cover and the thermoelement. The steam trap is therefore, conveniently adaptable to change in used conditions by suitable selection of trap units having various temperature characteristics previously prepared and is capable of effectively replacing its trap unit with a new one for repairing.
